Here are a few pictures from our June....
I (Elisabeth) was able to attend the World War Two Weekend at the Reading Airport. We were hoping Chris would be able to start training later so he could attend as well...but alas it was not so. So I took lots of pictures and sent as many to Chris as I could. Not sure if that was helpful to him...but it was nice to share something of the show with him. Pictures can be very deceiving. I was pretty bad off that weekend and only went to see my people and I knew it would cheer my soul. My body hated me for weeks after. It was really hot, way over stimulating, and the fumes from numerous things did me in. BUT. The people, planes, Veterans, and the glorious sight of canvas, jeeps, and uniforms was totally worth it. It also felt amazing to be in 1940s clothing again! (P.S. 1940s women's slacks feel so empowering!)
Only a fraction of what goes on...
Two of my best friends!
Our pal Rick...and one of the few times I felt short! :-P
The fabulous Kate!
The best thing about the weekend - the Veterans!
We love hearing their stories and asking them questions!
My soul needed to hear and see my beloved B-17 again.
Chris had a few days off and flew in to see me. We, along with my mom, drove to our favorite beach town and spent the day showing Chris around. The sea air did wonders and we all had a lovely day enjoying the ocean.
Chris climbed to the top of the lighthouse and took pictures for us (mom and I can never make it past the first landing! :-P )
Another week Chris visited we met up with my dearest friend Naomi and her man Michael at a local carnival. We had a wonderful time with them as we chatted about life and their up coming wedding.
Ever since we went to the Bee's baseball game in Salt Lake City...I wanted to show Chris my hometown team. So, we had a double date with my brother and future sister-in-love.
Funnel Cake! (and one of the shirts that was stolen! :-/)
Family. I love these clowns.
At Naomi and Michael's wedding! I was so blessed and honored to be part of the wedding AND surviving the entire day without feeling horrible! That day marks a turning point in my illness. Ever since that day, I have felt an amazing difference. I still have bad days and more to work on. But, that day will be a day I will never forget. The next wedding this summer with be these two goofballs wedding. I AM SO EXCITED!
So, that was our June (or most of it). We flew home on the 4th of July and all went well with that. No crazy stories that time around. :-)
