San Diego, California
In August I made my fist solo trip since I got sick. YAY! My mother was spending a few days in California with her aunt and cousin, so I decided to give it a try and meet her down there. Everything went really well, but it was helpful to have such a short flight and my mom waiting for me at the gate. So, I guess that is cheating a bit, BUT, I am still very proud of myself!
We had a grand time, just us girls! We revisited several favorite places and just hung out together. It was so lovely to just rest in the beautiful California sunshine!

Us girls at Old Town. Just chilling and shopping. :)
We spent some time at Balboa Park, one of my favorite places. I have yet to make through the entire park and see everything. The really awesome thing about this park is that many of the buildings and attractions came about because of the 1915 Panama-California Exposition and then the 1935-36 California Pacific International Exposition. You can read all about the history of the park here.
Here is the Spreckels Organ Pavilion.
The organist was practicing for that evening's concert.
At the History Center there was a fun exhibit on the
1915 Exposition and this was the official guest book.

It is HUGE!
A beautiful courtyard and fountain.
A door that I hope to have a replica of someday...
I love the architecture that is all around the park!
Then I had to say goodbye...
I would fly down any time, I love it there and I always feel so good in the warm sun and by the sea! Plus, it was so lovely to hang out with Mumsie and just be us.
