Our first apartment building was built in 1909. Each unit is super unique and each one different than the other, just like it's residents. When we first walked in when an employee was showing us studios...I stood speechless.
Did I just walk into a Masterpiece Theater set? I felt like I was in a Miss Marple or something. A Murphy bed was in the main living space (a bed that is built into the wall and folds up to give you more space.) We had an Art Deco bathroom, wood floors, and a coved ceiling. Vintage faucets and doorknobs. Big thick doors- four of them. Even the kitchen had its own door. Speaking of the kitchen, there was a tall narrow cabinet by the kitchen window. When opened - out came a hidden ironing board and attached sleeve board! How cool is that?!
The Murphy Bed is hidden in the wall
with the mirror on the underside.
There were times were I expected Jeeves to round the corner and offer us tea!
Alas - no luck on that...
What a fun little place!
