In January Chris and I took a quick trip to PA to visit with my family. Actually, it was quite long for us...five days! Five days that went way too fast. But, it was lovely, restful, and a joy to just sit and be with my family. We didn't get to see everyone we wanted or even do the things on my "I want to take Chris here" list. Next time...
The main highlight was just a family dinner, all of us together. Mom, Dad, Will, Casey, Baby "Bean", and my Grandmother. Oh and of course the family dog, Melvin and his buddy Otis the cat.
I know it's not polite to take pictures of people eating...or posting them in the internet for all to see. But, I wanted to quick capture the rare event. Plus it was ham and green beans, one of the warm yummy dishes of the area and Mom's apple sauce from the apple trees in her yard.
Then of course mom wanted to document her kids being together!
And one without glasses so Chris wouldn't feel left out.
Of course we must include Melvin. The dog who has so much personality and yet is the laziest dog ever. The only thing he is not lazy in his showing his love for his people (including Chris!)
As soon as we arrived, mom and dad sat us down and we opened up the Christmas that have been waiting several weeks for us. Let's just say my mom finds the most perfect. fun, practical, creative, and personal gifts ever. She spoiled us this year.
And of course we couldn't forget that Chris also had a birthday! Mom finds the most fun or goofy wrapping paper out there. We just love her to pieces.
One of the days we were there, Mom, Chris and I drove around and Mom showed us some of her favorite farms to buy meat and other items at. The farm dog took a liking to Chris. We liked him too and I sure wish we could have taken him home with us! We did a lot of exploring and showing Chris more of the towns and "sights" in the area.
It was cold, so many of the places on my list will have to wait until warmer weather. Oh well...I guess we will have to visit again!
