Moab

Moab, Utah ~ March 2016

In late March we ventured south to check out Moab and try our hands at camping. The drive down was amazing and we had great weather during our little trip...a bit cold...but it could have been worse. We had a wonderful time and are really looking forward to our next camping trip!

We spent most of our time exploring Arches National Park. We started off small this trip, no long hikes or ventured too far from civilization. Here is a sampling of what we saw...

We found a campground outside of town that was very comfortable for our first camping trip in Utah. This was my first time "modern" camping, up until this point, I only have camped at historic events. I loved it and am looking forward to working our way towards more primitive camping in the future.

Chris chopped up some wood and allowed me to start the fire. :-)

Our little spot. We really liked this campground, great views, outside of town, and warm clean bathrooms.

Dinner was delicious and it was so therapeutic to cook over a fire again.

Hot chocolate and tea before bed!

The temperature dropped quite a bit during the night, we stayed cozy, but it was pretty cold. Several coyotes decided to have a party near by and later an owl joined in the fun...let's just say I didn't sleep much. :-)

 Chris was cozy...

Breakfast before setting off for the day!

Back to Arches for a few hours...

We spent some time exploring along the Colorado River. We took a walk up a small canyon called Moonflower Canyon that is also a walk-in campground. At the mouth of the canyon there are some Petroglyphs and a Log Climb.

We are really looking forward to exploring more of southern Utah! We loved Moab and hope to travel back soon!
